Homemade Little Mermaid Birthday Cake

My daughter was crazy about the Little Mermaid so I wanted to make her a special cake. I made this Little Mermaid Birthday Cake using 2 2.5 quart Pyrex bowls and 2 "regular" boxes of cake mix. I baked them for about 55 minutes at 350.

Once cooled I leveled out the cakes saving the tops to build the cake. I frosted the cake with store purchased frosting. TO get the "smooth" white finish I patted the frosting with a paper towel.

The mermaid is a Barbie I wrapped her legs in plastic wrap because it you take the legs off you can't get them back on. I cut out a small hole in the cake for barbie and used a spoon to get out the cake.

My daughter and everyone else at the party loved the cake.
