Little Mermaid Cake

I did this Little Mermaid cake for my daughter's 4th birthday. It was a pool party birthday. I found this cake on funfamily.com, but it was so big I knew it wasn't going to fit in my fridge. So I decided to make a smaller version of it.

I used about 4 cake boxes of vanilla cake. And ready made icing about 2 tubs. And some round candy for the scales. It was very easy and I had a friend come and help me out. It took us about an hour to decorate. By the way I baked the cakes a night before and put them in the fridge. It makes it easier to cut.

This is the first time I ever made any of my kids birthday cakes. I definitely will do it again. It wasn't that hard. The tips on this web site helped a lot.
