Littlest Pet Shop cake
This Little Pet Shop cake was made for my daughter's 9th birthday. She had The Littlest Pet Shop theme. It was my daughter's idea to have a cake that would look like a park since she likes animals.
I used the Betty Crocker yellow white cake mix with vanilla filling. I used Pastry Pride brand of cool whip to ice the cake. Put Pastry Pride cool whip in the mixer and whip for 9-12 minutes increasing gradually. I separate the cool whip in small containers so I can add some food coloring as needed. With the financial crisis going on, we used her toys/ (Littlest Pet Shop) figurines as the cake topper. I don't have to buy any figurines or cake topper.
I used buttercream icing to make the walkway in the park, grass and bushes. I made ahead of time the little flowers made of royal icing using star tip. The park bench, girl and cat are made up of fondant. I used food color to add color to the white fondant to make the girl's face brown, orange cat, pink dress and brown bench.
After making the cake I placed all the toys and the fondant characters on top of the cake.
