Homemade Lizard Birthday Cake
This Lizard Birthday Cake was a birthday cake for my brother who loves reptiles. I made rice cereal treats and shaped them into a lizard shape fairly easily. I covered him with green modeling chocolate which is just 10 oz of chocolate melted and combined with 1/3 cup of corn syrup. It makes a nice dough.
I baked a 9x13 cake and covered it in brown cream cheese frosting to resemble the ground. Then I perched the lizard on it. The tongue was made from pink taffy and I even placed a fake fly on the end for laughs. His spots are mini m&ms and his eyes are regular sized m&ms. My brother loved it!
