Madea 50th Birthday Cake
A friend called and asked me to do a 50th birthday cake for his wife, and wanted to know if I could do Tyler Perry's character "Madea". I found a picture on the internet, sculpted it out of gumpaste that I colored using Wilton gel colors, and laid it on a sheet cake. I used the Wilton buttercream recipe for the icing.
The sculpting I did in layers. First the hands, and head. I used buttercream to pipe the glasses, her hair, and the flowers on the cake. I was very happy with the way the Madea 50th Birthday Cake turned out.
