Homemade Make Up Cake

Homemade Make Up Cake

I made this homemade make up cake for a friend’s daughter’s 5th birthday. It was a chocolate cake with butter cream icing. I started with two 8in round cakes and three 6in round cakes. I frosted the two 8in cake then covered it in white fondant and added pink polka dots all over the cake. Then I iced and covered the two 6in cakes and covered them in fondant.

I cut strips of pink fondant out and made the stripes on the little cake. I then stacked the smaller cake on top of the larger one. I wrapped a band on pink fondant around the middle and added the bow where the ends meet. The make up bag on top of the cake is just 1 half of a 6in cake iced and covered in fondant, then stacked on top of the cake.

Lastly, I added all the make-up pieces around (which are all made of fondant days in advance). Then rolled little tiny balls of fondant and trimmed the bottom of the homemade make up cake.
