Homemade Massage Table Cake
I made this Massage Table Cake for a friend's 40th birthday party. She was going to school to become a massage therapist.
1. My son made the amazing stand for this cake. This is the most important part so hopefully, if you make this cake, you can make the stand or know someone who can.
2. The bed of the table is just a two-layered rectangle cake. Level the cakes and put the first layer on a cake board the same size as the stand. Put a layer of frosting and the second layer of cake on top.
3. Crumb coat the cake and refrigerate for at least two hours.
4. Cover the entire cake with fondant in any color you want.
5. Put the cake on the stand. Color some fondant in whatever color you want. Roll out a thin layer and cut it so it is slightly bigger than the cake plus the height. Lay this "blanket" over the cake. Fold back the top.
6. The head rest is just fondant on a wood support which was part of the stand.
7. The boombox, oil, and candles are all made from fondant.
