I made this Merry Go Round Birthday Cake for my daughter’s first birthday. I made it with help from the Womens Weekly kids cake book and cheated and used packet cake mixes. I am no baker (hence the packet cake mixes) and was so proud when I managed to put this together.
It was challenging but so rewarding when I got heaps of great comments.
That is a wonderful cake! You did a really nice job! Btw, I use box mix all the time, but I do make my own frosting. No shame in using cake mix.
Any advice on where to get the horses for this cake?
I found the horses on ebay – “6 blank wooden rocking horse decoration gift tags craft.”
You think they are gift tags but in fact they are the wooden horses as pictured in the cake book!
I had a nightmare finding them so hope this helps anyone else searching the internet frantically!
