Homemade Mickey Birthday Cake

Homemade Mickey Birthday Cake

I used a 9" round cake pan for the face and two ceramic cremé brulé cups to bake the ear cakes. The Mickey Birthday Cake was chocolate (my mother's egg free crazy cake recipe). Crazy cake worked well because it is easy to frost. I usually make it with a peanut butter frosting - but it was just as good with butter cream.

I used store bought black frosting and butter cream for the face. The eyes were store bought white and the mouth was made with red hots. It was Eela's second birthday and she really loved the cake.

This was my first character cake and judging by what a hit it was, it won't be my last. It seemed like it was going to be a big job at first, but by taking it one step at a time, it was pretty simple really. Thanks to this site for the help!
