Homemade Mickey Mouse 2nd Birthday Cake
We made this Mickey Mouse 2nd Birthday Cake for my son's second birthday. We used a regular store bought white cake mix to make it. We used a regular eight inch round cake pan for the head and we used two miniature bundt pans for the ears. However, you could also use cupcakes for the ears. We chose the bundt pans because they looked more proportionate.
The mini bundt pans do use more frosting because you have to fill in the holes to make the ears. We used store bought chocolate frosting for the darker portion of the head, the ears, the mouth, the nose, and parts of the eyes. We used homemade powder sugar frosting for the eyes and we colored the extra frosting with food coloring for the face and tongue.
The cake was actually very simple to make and to decorate. My son absolutely loved it and is already having fun deciding what he wants her to make for his next birthday!!
