Homemade Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake

I made this Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake for my son's 2nd birthday. I got the idea after browsing this website. The head is an extra large Wilton brand circle cake pan (I'm not sure of the exact size right now) and the ears are 2 6" Wilton brand circle cake pans.

I put on a crumb layer of frosting and then using a toothpick, I drew out Mickeys face in the frosting. Using a Wilton brand star tip (size ?), I filled in his face with frosting. The sides I iced all black. I used Wilton brand color icing gels.

I used a buttercream icing recipe that was passed to me from a great aunt and because of the size, I put it on a counter top sink cut out. The cake was huge! He loved it.
