Homemade Mickey Mouse Cake

I made this Mickey Mouse cake for my son's 3rd birthday. I used a 10" pan with white cake mix for his face. I used an 8" pan for the ears using 1 box of dark chocolate cake mix divided. I found the mixed batter was equal to 5 cups.

I outlined the 10" pan on wax paper and did my best drawing of Mickey to use as a reference.

I used 2 containers of dark chocolate and added Wilton's Black coloring to make it black. I outlined the mouth, nose, eyes and head line with a straight tip. I continued with the star tip to fill the dark areas.

I used 1 container of white icing. I kept a little white for the eyes and highlights, made a little pink for the tongue using Wilton's peach and used the rest for the skin tone using Wilton's copper (you need very little).

I piped in the colors and we had an AWESOME birthday!
