Homemade Mickey Mouse Cake
I made this Mickey Mouse cake for my grandson Miles, on his 2nd Birthday. It was pretty simple to do. I used one 9 inch round and two 6 inch rounds for the Mickey head. I split all three rounds in half and frosted the middle and top of the cakes with fluffy chocolate buttercream and then spread a thin layer of raspberry preserves on top of the buttercream on only the middle layers.
I then took Oreos (with filling removed) and ground up the cookies in my food processor. I then spread the crumbs all over the cake, including the sides. I then used my Cricut scrapbooking machine to make a 5 inch M (for Miles, but you could use whatever initial you need) and placed it on the cake and then traced around the M and then filled it in with red frosting using a number 16 Wilton tip.
It was fun to do and everyone liked it!
