Coolest Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake

The Clubhouse is made using a Pampered Chef Classic Batter Bowl that you can mix and bake your cake all in the same bowl. The Foot is made using cupcakes. I cut two cupcakes in half to make them form a foot. The bottom layer is a 9×13 pan. I used a Paula Deen pound cake recipe to make the cake more dense to hold up which can be found on her website. I used Marshmallow Fondant which I made myself. The slide is made out of rolled-up Fondant. The Mickey ears and head are made out of Styrofoam balls painted black attached with skewers to not touch the cake. All of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake is covered with fondant.

I cut out a shape of the door from the fondant and then piped it to look like the door on the show. I cut out small circles for windows and then piped the details. A friend found the characters at the Disney Store for me. I used the Wilton Spray food coloring so I would not have to knead all those different colors in the fondant. I was not very pleased with the way it sprayed and had to use my fingers to smooth out the coloring. The aersol kept stopping up, depending on how I was holding the can.

I used toothpicks to hold the slide up in the air. I cut a circle of cardboard to put under the Clubhouse and cut skewers to add under the cardboard for more support. I could’ve cried when my son wanted to cut the Clubhouse first! HA! After all that work I wanted to save it! I was very pleased with this cake and it is one of my favs that I have made! My son and his friends loved the cake and I took the left overs to a VBS party.

  1. My son turns 2 this weekend and we were gonna make a Mickey Mouse shaped cake, but after seeing you rendition of the clubhouse, we are going to try it! I know it won’t look anything like your’s but thank you so much for the idea and the details!! It will certainly be easier to use foam balls rather than try to create the mouse shape! Thanks again, it will certainly be a memorable birthday cake for all of us!
