Homemade Minnie Mouse Four Tier 3-D Cake
This Minnie Mouse cake is a cake I made for a close friend. I made it out of vanilla cake and Bavarian Cream filling. I used a total of three pans. A 10", 8", and 6" round pans for the three tier cake, and a "ball" cake pan for Minnie's face.
I cut her face in the shape of Minnie, and molded the rest out of gum paste. Her ears and nose are also gum paste. When her ears were dry, I then inserted wire halfway through the ears and then inserted the ears in the cake. Her nose was also held in place with wire, although I did not wait for the gum paste to dry, but inserted the wire right away so it would hold better. Her eyes are made of fondant, and her eye lashes and lips are painted on with a brush using edible paint.
Her bow was made a head of time, as well as her ears and nose to allow enough time to dry, and made of fondant icing, as well as the outer icing on the three tiers. I would really love to hear any comments! Thanks!
