Monkey Cake

This Monkey cake I made for my little brother's 7th birthday. He loves Monkeys!

I got three different sized cake tins including a dolly tin. The largest tin was the legs, the medium sized the middle and the dolly tin the head.

I used cake mixture from a box because its too important to risk a bad cake! I used three boxes altogether although if you use small tins then use less. My cake was about 30 cm tall and 15 wide, I guess, although I'm not sure.

Wooden skewers and toothpicks are used to put the cakes together. Cut a gap in the two bottom cakes and use the leftover bit as arms and legs.
Use melted chocolate to make hands and ears and face.

When icing, its a hard job so have plenty of chocolate hail and coconut to cover the icing.
Use lollies and marshmallows to add to the design.

I know the cakes messy but it was the first birthday cake I made.
