Homemade Monster Truck Birthday Cake

I made this Monster Truck Birthday Cake for my nephews 1st Birthday. He loves trucks. I used square pans for the base (2 layers)and a bread loaf pan for the top. I also had a foam base covered in foil that the cake sat on to give it the height, but just enough to support the cake
so the wheels could fit just right.

The wheels are cake too! For those I used small tart pans (2 each). And I used dowels to hold the tires on. Then I covered it all in fondant after I crumb frosted it. Then I hand painted it red to get a good red. Then I colored fondant different colors and cut to make the rims and the windows.

I used marshmallows for the lights on top. And I even made bumpers on the front and back. I also used homemade marshmallow fondant. Everyone loved it.
