I made this moon cake for my daughter’s first birthday. The moon and stars are done in chocolate cake.
Cut the cake into shape and freeze to prevent crumbling during icing. Ice with yellow icing. I also coloured some plain sugar with yellow food colouring and sprinkled it on top to create a shining effect. Silver cachous to decorate.
The cow is made completely out of white icing. Fun and easy cake to make for a first birthday.

Very nice cake! I’m making a similar one for my daughter’s 6th birthday. I made the same moon cake with about 12 stars to surround it. The moon cake is yellow and the stars are purple and blue.

The cow is entirely out of fondant. Mucked around for ages with a piece of cake but way too un-co so just moulded it.
