Homemade Mother To Be Cake
The many pregnancy belly cakes on this website inspired me to make this mother-to-be cake for two friends expecting babies this summer. I made the shape by using two cupcakes and a round cake, which I got by using a Wilton soccer ball cake pan.
I iced the whole thing with buttercream icing and then put rolled-out fondant on top and shaped the dress. The bow and polka dots are also made from fondant, and the belly button was made by putting a chocolate chip under the fondant layer.
Everyone at the shower loved it!
