Coolest Motorcycle Cake

My son told me everyday, for weeks before his party that he wanted a motorcycle cake. I looked and looked online and got some ideas but couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. So I designed this Motorcycle Cake. I used 9″ inch rounds for the wheels and two 13×9 inch cakes for the rest of the body of the bike. This cake was huge. The pan I used to put the cake on in this picture is 18×26. That gives you a good idea of how big it actually is.

So, I have had no so good experiences in the past with black food coloring and frosting, so instead, I bought a pack of oreos, took out the filling and ground them all up in the blender. I frosted the wheels with choclate frosting and then used the oreo dust to cover the wheels. It turned out awesome!

Then for the body I just cut the 13×9’s to fit around the wheels in the shape of a motorcycle body and fenders. I also used swiss rolls for the handle bars. The parts of the handle bars on the actual cake, I had to cut in half, long ways to get them level with the handle bars on the pan. I used food coloring and white frosting for the rest of the colors on the cake.

Hope this helps and hope you liked our cake. I know we did.
