Homemade Mystery Machine Cake 28

I baked 6 golden butter sheet cakes (9x13)and layered them with Dulce de leche (a family favorite). I carved out the front of the Mystery machine then carved the back.

I covered the Mystery Machine cake with blue homemade Wilton buttercream icing. And cut the the green of the mystery machine, flowers and windows out of fondant. Then with a red icing pen I wrote the Mystery Machine on both sides.

At the party the wheels were added simple Mallomars. The tricky part was trying to figure out what I was going to do about the crew. Luckily we found the perfect size characters at Toy-r-us. That we placed in from of the van.
