Homemade Ni Hao Kai-Lan Birthday Cake
This Ni Hao Kai-Lan Birthday Cake was for my daughter's 2nd Birthday Party. She loves the cartoon very much so I looked around online and found a style that I liked. I changed it up a little bit and it came out nice.
I used the confetti box cake mix and the Wilton Heart Tasty Fill Cake Pan Set and used a sliced strawberries and whipped cream mixed with a little strawberry (store bought) frosting, filling. I frosting the cake with the store bought strawberry frosting and the covered the cake with light blue fondant (white fondant tinted light blue) Then added green hill-y strips around the bottom. Used a small circle cutout from a decorating kit to make flowers and stencil letters for her name and just cut the clouds out of white fondant with a pizza cutter. One thing I forgot to do was make Mr. Sun's orange cheeks. And I would have added a tiny grass border at the bottom with icing if I had had the time.
The toppers are a 2 candle and toy figurines. The bees on the sides are edible decorations I stuck on the cake with a little bit of water.
