Homemade Nightmare Before Christmas Cake

Homemade Nightmare Before Christmas Cake

I used a 12x18 cake pan for this Nightmare Before Christmas Cake. I made it a two layer cake. The cake was a Fudge Marble cake. There is a layer of crumb buttercream frosting on the cake. I used buttercream fondant and split it into several different balls. I took each ball and dyed it as close as I could to match Sally’s clothes.

The green and purple on top of the cake are the colors she likes. Jack and Sally were designed by my husband and I. The quilt pieces were cut from the different colors of fondant. I made sure there was a thick covering of frosting on the sides, so the pieces of fondant would stick. Then I made it look like it was sewn together, by using a black decorating pen.

Very easy, but fun cake to make.
