My brother is an avid gamer and, for his birthday cake this year, he asked for a replica of his Nintendo NES.
I baked a sheet cake and then cut and built it to resemble the NES. I used a scrap piece of cake to make the controller and then I made mini cupcakes to replicate some 1-UP mushrooms, placing them around the NES.
It really turned out great! He loved it! We even displayed it with the real NES beside it.
