Coolest Ocean Cake

I made this ocean cake for my sister-in-law’s birthday. I used a half sheet cake pan, froze the cake after baking for easier frosting. I made a box mix of Funfetti as everyone loves the taste of this cake.

I used Wilton’s gel dye for the vanilla frosting. It comes in twelve colors, lasts forever, and has amazing colors. I frosted it in a water-blue color and then froze again for a few hours to set.

I used fruit-by-the-foot for the seaweed, which is great because right now it comes in rolls that have designs in them when you pull them in half. They make perfect seaweed. I twisted a few of them to make them more realistic and used a couple different rolls for different colors.

I used light brown sugar for the sand at the bottom. I cheated a little with some of the plastic sea creatures because I ran out of time decorating! The Flounder fish is a gummy I got at the Dollar Tree. The rocks are sour gummies broken in half.
