Coolest Olivia the Pig Birthday Cake

I made a cake mix in two 8-in round pans. I cut the ears and nose from one round cake. Olivia’s ears are uneven (which was easy to work with!) and she has a long rounded triangle nose.

The icing used was vanilla pudding whipped with whipping cream and a few drops of red food coloring. For the darker pink areas I took a small reserve from the pink icing and added another drop or two of red food coloring.

The eyes, nose and smile of the homemade Olivia the Pig birthday cake were made from grape shoestring licorice. It was very simple to put together and the kids “pigged out!”.

  3. Love this – would love to make this for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. Quick question – why did you use pudding as the frosting, instead of regular frosting? Is it a taste preference or was it easier to spread? Thanks!
