My granddaughter was graduating from HS so I wanted to make her a special cake. She likes Hello Kitty, but not as much as she used to. She really likes Owls so I decided to make her an owl cake.
The bottom layer is a choc cake, top is vanilla. I iced it with vanilla butter cream icing and decorated with fondant. I sculpt the Owl a few days ahead of time so he could dry. Then made the other decorations the day I iced the cake. The ribbon at the bottom was the inspiration for the colors.
I had to transport the cake 5 hrs so that is the reason it has a few not perfect places showing.
