Homemade Paint Pallete Cake Idea
My name is Danielle from Manalapan. I am 10 yrs old, and love to bake and decorate cakes like my mom. This Paint Pallete Cake Idea I made for a local cake decorating contest. The first thing I did to prepare this cake is carve out the pound cake that I made into the pallete shape. I then put buttercream frosting on it and let it set in the fridge as I colored and rolled out the fondant.
To get the brown color I wanted I mixed red, yellow, and red until I was satisfied. For the 'paint colors' I just used sparkle food coloring and put it free form with some intentional drip marks to look more realistic. For the paint brush I rolled out fondant into a snake shape, and for the tip of the brush I used a non sharp knife to give the bristle effect. I dipped in into the pink food coloring to looked like brush was used
Hope you like the cake as much as I enjoyed making it.
