Homemade Pasture of Sheep Cake
This Homemade Pasture of Sheep Cake was my first fondant cake!
The cake is yellow vanilla with the Wilton Buttercream Icing recipe on top (under the fondant). The fillings are my favorite Betty Crocker Icing recipe — 3 to 4 cups powdered sugar, 1 stick of butter, 2 tbsp milk. The first tier is strawberry chocolate chip buttercream, meaning I just added strawberry extract and chocolate chips to the recipe. The 2nd tier has that filling also along with a mint buttercream filling.
The green fondant is by Fondantrific. The light green is a mix of white fondant by Satin Ice and the green fondant. The brown and purple is white fondant that I dyed.
For the sheep I rolled white fondant into balls, and little balls for feet. Then I shaped the heads with fondant that I dyed brown and poked holes in the nose with toothpicks. The eyes are fondant with black gel eyes. The wool is buttercream which I piped on them after they were sitting on the cake. I placed the heads on last (which is why one popped off when someone took a sheep off the cake.
