Homemade Penguins Cake

This penguins cake was made for a coworker of mine who loves a good laugh. The cake was a lemon pound cake laced with Italian limoncello, fresh grated lemon peel and fresh squeezed juice. The icing was cream cheese icing and the penguins appeared to be embracing a fun game of bowling using themselves as pins!

The Penguins are made completely out of colored fondant and then positioned onto the cake with wooden dowels. It took about a week for the different stages of fondant to dry so I could move onto the next step of their features.

Lot's of smiles when the cake was presented and the cake was refreshing albeit very heavy!
