Homemade Phineas and Ferb Birthday Cake
I made this Phineas and Ferb Birthday Cake for my son's second birthday. He loves Phineas and Ferb. I looked all over the place and couldn't find anything so I printed a picture I found online, and copied it with fondant.
I used two chocolate cake mixes and a 9"x"13 cake pan. I made buttercream frosting and frosted the whole thing, then I rolled out a large sheet of yellow fondant for the background. I kept adding food coloring until I got the right color I wanted, then I rolled out the fondant and carved everything out of fondant. Everything that was a different color, the strips on the shirts, their eyes, teeth, hair, shoes and belts, and placed it on the cake. It was like putting a puzzle together.
I brushed each piece with water to keep it in place. I used blue frosting for the waves and the boarder. I added white frosting to the waves to give it some detail. Everyone loved it! The whole cake took 8 hours to make but I think it was worth it.
