Homemade Piggy Birthday Cake

I made this Piggy Birthday Cake for my cousin's little girl for her 3rd birthday. I was inspired by the other pig cakes on this website and my sister and I decided to give it a go. Previously we have only really made fairy cakes!

The cake is a Victoria sponge with buttercream and jam in the middle. The white icing was white ready roll icing, and the pink icing we made ourselves using fondant icing with some food colouring added. The snout is a fairy cake covered in the fondant icing and the nostrils and eyes are chocolate buttons.

We used boiled jam to stick the icing onto the sponge. The trotters are made from leftover fondant and rolled icing.

I hope it tastes as good as it looks as we are eating it tonight!
