Homemade Pink Daisy Cupcakes "Petit Fours"

I made these Pink Daisy Cupcakes "Petit Fours" for my niece's baby shower. We went a little more modern with the colors. Instead of traditional pastel colors, we chose to do hot pink, black, and white. I call these cupcake Petit Fours because they are simply upside-down cupcakes with poured fondant icing.

The flowers are made from marshmallow fondant that were dried on a flower former. Making Petit Fours this way are easy because the sides are sloped and the icing spreads out more evenly. I think making cupcakes this way make them look a little more elegant and expensive than regular cupcakes that have a swirl of buttercream icing.

These are absolutely adorable. I have to remember this idea of inverted cupcakes. I love it.
