Homemade Pink Pony Horse Cake
When I asked my daughter Trista what cake she wanted for her 5th birthday party she replied "I want a horse mummy". So I used a large rectangle tin to bake my Pink Pony Horse Cake. And then I made a template from inspirations from all the wonderful horse cakes on this very useful site.
The ear of the horse was separate from the horse head and I used one of the cake off cuts to cut the ear out. Then I decorated it with two shades of pink butter icing (I used a large salad serving fork to make the hair effect on the dark pink icing), 1 brown smarty, some licorice for the eye brow and lashes and some glitter gel for the mouth and halter.
I was very happy with how it turned out and so was my daughter, her little friends and their mummys'.
