Coolest Pink Princess Castle Cake

I made this birthday cake for my 4 year old daughter’s birthday. This is pretty simple to make, if you can bake a cake you can make this castle.

To make, you will need a total of 4 baked cakes size 9×9 square (minimum of 2 boxed mixes, baked according to box directions). Once cooled, take one of the cakes, wrap and place in the freezer for at least 2 hrs (this makes it so much easier to cut and build the top layer, really fresh cake can easily crumble).

Cut the 3 layers tops off, so you have 3 even layers. Ice and stack all three layers together to make the bottom of the castle. Take the 4th layer out of the freezer and remove the top to make an even layer, cut into 4 equal pieces. Ice and layer 3 pieces in the center of the 3 large layers. With the last 1/4 pc of cake cut this into 4 more equal squares, ice and layer 3 pieces in the center of the 3 medium layers. Ice the whole cake to ensure there is no more cake showing (place a wooden kabob all the way through the center of the homemade pink Princess castle cake to keep it stable).

Take 5 sugar ice cream cones, cover in icing then sprinkles, place 4 iced cones on the 4 top corners of the large layer, and the last cone will go on the direct top of the cake. Decorate as needed, using chocolate for doors and windows, candy to decorate.

An of course decorate with Princess Characters….
