Homemade Pink Princess Castle Cake
I made this homemade pink princess castle cake for my niece’s 3rd birthday. This site was the first place I looked for ideas! A cutting board was used for the base, wrapped in purple tissue paper and then in plastic wrap. It was a vanilla cake; the base was a two-layer 8” square and the top was a two-layer 6” circle.
The turrets were made of cake cones (with cake bake inside them) inserted into waffle cones, dipped in white chocolate. Before dried, the waffle cones were sprinkled with pink, crushed edible glitter. The bases of the turrets were cut from a wrapping paper roll and then frosted. The frosting was cream cheese, by request of the mother.
The door, windows, and stepping stone detail were piped from melted white or pink chocolate onto parchment paper, dried, and placed onto the frosting before it crusted. All other details (vines, flowers, detail on the turrets, and writing) were piped with the same cream cheese frosting tinted different colors.
***Good trick: I printed the words off the computer, placed the paper under the plastic wrap so I had a guide to pipe the lettering. I removed the paper and folded the plastic wrap back under. It never would have looked as nice if I had done it freehand! The same technique was also used to pipe the white chocolate.
Everyone really loved this homemade pink princess castle cake and I loved making it! It was a perfect addition to the wonderful princess party!
