Homemade Pirate Birthday Cake

This Pirate Birthday Cake I made for my son's 1st birthday. The cake is a caramel mud scratch mix. I iced it with fondant icing, the flesh colour I coloured using paste, the red and black I bought pre-coloured. It's much easier to buy these than to mix them.

The cake was a great hit, which made me pretty proud considering it's my third cake using hard icing.
