Pirate Island and Ship Cake

Pirate Island and Ship Cake

I made this Pirate cake for my son's birthday because he loved pirates. The bottom is just a half sheet white cake that made and frosted with butter cream in between the two layers. I looked for the biggest cake pan that I had in order to make it look like two different parts of the island the pirates are on.

On one half I added crushed graham cracker for the sand, and on the other side I just used extra frosting and tried to make it into spike looking waves. And for the blue waves I bought a can of Wilton blue food coloring spay and sprayed away until it looked just like water.

I had the little figures already and just added them to the cake so that it would all look more piratey. This cake was really not hard to do at all and I hope that someone will find this picture helpful for their child's birthday.
