I try to come up with different ideas every year for my son’s birthday cake, but this year I was having a lot of trouble coming up with an idea. What to make a 26 year old guy for his birthday??? He loves Mt. Dew and of course Pizza is a major food group for him, so that is how I came up with this idea of a Pizza cake with Mt. Dew cans. The cake and cans of pop are all made of cake, and they are even Mt. Dew favored. He loved it!
The pizza cake was baked in a 14″ cake pan and I used small 6oz. empty veggie cans for baking the Mt Dew pop cans in. For the topping on the pizza I grated white chocolate for the cheese and added different pieces of candy for the sausage, pineapple and mushrooms and olives on the cake. The cake looked like a real pizza pie.
