Coolest Playstation Birthday Cake

My nephew wanted a Playstation birthday cake for his 8th Birthday. I decided I would give this cake a try. I baked a white cake mix in a 9×13 cake pan and a chocolate in 2 9 inch pans. The center is the 9×13 white and the ends are 1 of the 9inch cakes cut in half.

I used a Wilton 16 star tip for the whole cake. To get grey icing I used cream cheese icing with black Wilton coloring. The screen is the crystal sugar sprinkles. The bigger buttons are mini Oreos dipped in melted icing tinted black. The smaller buttons are chocolate covered raisins dipped in melted icing tinted black.

I chose to do the writing in blue because that was my nephews favorite color. I had never written on sprinkles before, that was very difficult. The icing kept moving every time I moved the tip to release the icing. To do the writing I used a Wilton 1 tip.

I enjoyed making this cake and it was a huge hit at the party. The only negative comment was I forgot to connect the big buttons on the side. There was supposed to be lines connecting them, but it was late, and it slipped my mind.

Enjoy!
