Homemade Police Car Cake
Most of my ideas for this Police Car Cake came from reading this website. I have learned many things from Coolest Cakes! I used the Wilton Vehicle cake pan. I also used the Wilton butter cream box icing, which gave the white a yellow cast. It was fine but not crisp white.
I divided the icing in half and added black and blue food coloring gel to the second half. My son, who is turning 5, really wanted to help with the icing, so it turned out a lot messier than I planned, but he was SO proud that he helped make his cake.
The best part abut the cake was the last minute addition of a red and blue finger light, which we had around the house (a four pack on Amazon or other websites is very cheap). That really brought the car to life and it looked amazing! My son also wanted to put his tiny police badge on the front of the car, which was fine.
It really turned out cute thanks especially to the finger lights.
