Coolest Popcorn Birthday Cake

This really was much easier than I thought it would be! I used a 9×13 cake pan with aluminum foil lining the bottom and fruit by the foot for the red stripes! I used vanilla frosting for the base, and also used the frosting to anchor the popcorn to the cake. Believe it or not, the salty/sweet combination tastes awesome together, and I used Duncan Hines Red Velvet cake mix so it looked really neat when you cut into it!

The only thing I would have done different (I’m a bit of a beginner at this) is to lay a piece of aluminum foil or something under the little “Happy Birthday” sign I made. It was just a piece of paper printed off the computer, but the moisture started to make it look a little wet. I used a tip with red frosting around the sign.

My son LOVED it and we gave a few movie tickets with the homemade popcorn birthday cake to keep the “theme” going! :)
