Homemade Pregnant Belly Cake

Homemade Pregnant Belly Cake

This is the second pregnant belly cake I've done. The cake itself is double fudge chocolate with buttercream and covered with MMF. My friend wanted modern colors such as pink and brown.

I added the baby feet details as I did in my first cake, but also added the 'outie' belly button. I've had great reviews on this cake. It's definitely my favorite of the two. Thanks for looking.

Instructions

Sorry it's taken me so long to check the site again. The feet details are out of fondant. I used the foot cookie cutter, but I cut the toes off and formed individual balls to make it look more realistic.

The cake itself is pretty simple. Instead of using the large ball pan as many have done (I don't like the rounded look to the belly, it looks to fake) I used ovals and stacked them, icing in between. Then I started carving the cake into the basic shape I wanted. The boobs were actually two cakes baked in a pyrex bowl. Then I iced the cake completely and covered it in MMF.
