Coolest Princess Castle Cake

I really looked through this site and took a little bit from a lot of people to create my own Princess castle cake. The recipe I used from allrecipes.com called the Heavenly White Cake (a wonderful cake recipe).

For the frosting I used a basic buttercream frosting only without butter. I also added a half teaspoon of almond extract to compliment the cake. I used a 9 inch square for the bottom, 6 inch round for the top and one regular cupcake for the very top.

For the windows I cut pieces of fruit roll up and outlined with twizzlers ropes. I also used this for the drawbridge. The door was a graham cracker. I used edible Easter grass and caramel rounds for the pathway. The turrets are ice cream cones that I painted with corn syrup and rolled in red sugar crystals or shook in a bag of red sugar.

I used dots around the bottom layer and yogurt pretzels on the top layer. I used tootsie rolls for the draw bridge, and a candy jewel ring over the door. I used skewer sticks to hold the the ice cream cones to the cake. It turned out great especially for the first time making it!
