Homemade Princess Castle Cake

This Princess Castle Cake was made for my daughter Tayla on her 4th birthday, September 2008. She loves to dress up as a princess and all year was asking for a castle cake.

The cake was a 10inch round white mud cake. I covered the cake with white butter cream and sprinkled the cake with edible glitter. For the pillars I used a castle making kit and covered the cone tops with mauve colour butter cream and then rolled them in mauve coloured sprinkles.

I then piped around the windows and doorways using the mauve coloured butter cream. I then added small silk flowers all around the doorways on the window sills and around the outside of the cake. I used green coloured butter cream for the grass effect and a plastic Barbie figurine to add to the decoration.

Not a hard cake to make, but looks effective for any little princess.
