My 4 year old wanted a princess Barbie theme for her 4th birthday complete with a castle. I used vanilla cake mix for the base. White butter and icing which I made from scratch to get the perfect color she wanted. I mixed 2 colors to get it perfect.
I used sugar cones for the towers and decorated them with icing sugar and smarties. I used jelly tots to decorate the bottom of the cake and proper princess sweets with frog, handbag and princess slipper to decorate the top of the cake.
For the castle windows I used white chocolate and for the draw bridge I used dark chocolate complete with fairy princess on the draw bridge.
She loved her cake and want’s one every other weekend. This was my first attempt at making such a cake. Now I am more confident and ready for my next project. My 2 year old’s butterfly birthday cake coming up in November.
