I made this Princess castle cake for my daughter’s 5th birthday. It took about 10 hours from start to finish. I used the Wilton Castle Cake kit. There were fondant flowers, royal icing, and butter cream frosting. It was quite the endeavor.
The princesses were toys I found at Target instead of using the cake decorating toys that always fall apart the next day. I believe the cakes were 12 in and 8 in rounds that were two layered. There are over 200 small fondant flowers that I started making a week in advance. Please allow for a week to complete this cake doing a little bit each day.
If I ever did it again it would be for an older child. My daughter loved it, but later that week she saw a rectangle grocery store princess cake and said,”I wish I had that one”. I almost passed out. Well, she was only 5 and didn’t understand all the time and energy that I put into it.
