Homemade Princess Crown Birthday Cake
For this Homemade Princess Crown Birthday Cake I used 2 layer 6 inch cake pans for the top and 10 inch for the bottom. I covered them in Wilton white fondant. I used wooden dowels in the bottom layer to support the top layer, then 1 large dowel through the center of both to keep top from falling off. I used cutters to make the stars and 26 gauge wire purchased from a cake supply store.
For the crown, I cut the shape out by hand with a knife and placed it on a wonton soup container lying on its side to get the curved shape. The jewels on the crown are colored fondant that was placed in a jewel mold. The letters on the cupcakes are also made from fondant using letter cookie cutters.
