I had a friend call me at the last minute because he needed a birthday cake for his wife and the theme was puppies and kittens. I baked a 10 inch round basic yellow cake from scratch and made some homemade buttercream icing to fill and ice it with in pale pink.
I made fondant balls in grey and pink to put around the bottom and some circles for the sides in white.
I sculpted the dog out of brown fondant and made the food bowls and ball of yarn for the kittens. I made a bone out of white fondant and the kitten is white with black spots. I placed them on top of the cake.
This Puppy and Kitten Birthday Cake turned out cute and my friend loved it!
