This R2D2 cake is made of 4 9″ round cakes and for the top I baked the cake in a large Pyrex bowl. Since I knew that the cake wouldn’t hold itself, I formed the bottom part of the cake with a piece of cardboard.
I cut a circle out of cardboard and used it as the top of the “base” on which to build the cake. The two “legs” on either side are cut from sheet cake and stuck to the sides with frosting and a few wood skewers (I was desperate!).
I used Wilton colors to color the frosting. The red button on the top is a piece of red candy.
